Goodbye Torrentspy

Written on March 28, 2008 – 5:43 pm | by decypher |

Torrentspy caved in by shutting down their torrent search engine, after some huge pressuring from MPAA for almost two years. If you go to Torrentspy.com right now, instead of the original search engine and countless porn advertisements, you now see a simple panel that explains the shutting down of one of the most popular torrent sites in the Internet some time last year.

All good things must come to an end, right? I used to use the search engine a lot, because I just can’t find the things I want elsewhere. I usually search for aXXo movies, some new games and batches of anime.

This could be one of the biggest April Fool’s joke of 2008. The decision to close down on 24th March 2008 is quite coincidental, isn’t it? It might be in their plans to shut down for a week and then reinstate its search engine service to the public.
