Insomniac

When my sleeping hours were upside down, the silver lining was that I could still sleep in the day. Now I suffer from some sort of insomnia that keeps me awake almost all day and night. It has been like this for almost a week now, and I feel light-headed every once in a while. It’s amazing that I hadn’t crash my car into someone else’s with all the driving involved last week.
I slept only 4 hours yesterday, and about 2 hours the day before that. That’s a total of 6 hours in three days. The average human sleeps for 8 hours a day, that means approximately 16 hours between three days. I have managed only 6 hours, which is only about a third of the norm.
Strangely enough, when I lie on the bed, I feel energetic. My brain just wouldn’t rest. I felt like I could pick up the badminton racket and train for a couple of hours, or cycle around the area until sunrise. My body just isn’t properly conditioned to sleep at nights anymore. Maybe I should don a superhero suit and prance around town. When caught, I shall claim to be Daredevil, your friendly neighborhood insomniac!
It’s 7:33AM right now and I’m still tossing and turning on the bed. I have a meeting at 10AM and I wonder if I should continue trying to sleep for 2 hours or just stay awake until the whole damn thing is over.
Hope counting sheep really works.
